The Golf Club Managers Association is a modern organisation dedicated to providing high quality services to over 1,500 members working in the UK and beyond. Key services range from professional development via blended learning programmes to a variety of professional support services all funded by membership fees and commercial partnerships.
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for leading and developing the GCMA and its business. The ideal individual will demonstrate the ability to think strategically and operationally in providing sustainable solutions to organisational design in service operations, people and finance. As well as managing performance the individual will demonstrate the ability to develop a professional working culture with a social orientation underpinned by modern governance principles.
The CEO will report to the Chairman of the Board and work alongside a skills-based Board to effectively manage GCMA strategy, governance and organisational performance.
The key responsibilities will include:
- To provide leadership, direction and assistance to the Board in the creation and development of the GCMA’s Strategy, Purpose, Vision, Goals and Values, and to be responsible for execution
- To work with the Board, staff, other internal and external stakeholders on the continual development and implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan
- To take lead responsibility for developing and managing effective commercial, marketing and communication strategies
- To provide direction, leadership and support to staff and be accountable for the efficient and effective day to day management of the organisation
Candidates will have a minimum of five years senior management experience gained within golf and/or the wider sport and leisure industries.
